Nike Hercules and Patriot Missile Tutorials
Building large, mid power rockets is not only a really exciting thing to do but a  great way to learn more about the science behind rocket propulsion, aerodynamics, Newton's Laws of Motion and more.  These kits are readily available to the average modeler who has had some previous experience building things.  They are clearly not designed for the beginner and definitely not designed for launching in the family backyard or driveway. Each rocket featured on this website was carefully chosen due to their size, historical relevance and overall "cool" factor which means they will certainly draw a crowd at the local rocket launch.

Each tutorial will walk you through the steps needed to build one of these impressive rockets.  We will make every effort to identify those tools and supplies needed to complete the build along with any useful tips or techniques that we have learned over the years of building, launching and crashing large, scale rockets.  Click on the picture of the rocket of your choice to take you to the next tutorial.  Both of these projects are underway and at various stages of completion.
